![]() Julie Trkula was initiated in 2004 at Epsilon Pi (George Mason University). She served as Financial Vice President for Epsil on Pi for multiple terms, and has been serving as their financial advisor in recent years. Julie graduated GMU with a degree in flute performance and a certificate in leadership studies. She loved going to Mason so much, she couldn’t stay away! She recently graduated with her Masters in Business Administration from GMU in May 2018. She is the general manager of the Green Machine Ensembles at GMU, where she also teaches a class. I guess you could say Julie bleeds green and gold! In her “spare time”, she teaches private flute lessons and enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt and their dog, Tango. Julie is one of the charter members of the Fairfax County Alumnae chapter, and has served as the president since its installation in 2012. She is very committed to the ideals and values of Gamma Phi Beta, and strives to support the sorority in any way she can. She has attended three conventions as the voting delegate for the chapter, and has played the flute for three international Initiation services. She works closely with the presidents of other area chapters (Northern Virginia and Washington DC Alumnae Chapters) to encourage communication and support throughout the Northern Virginia/DC area. Julie is a natural leader, and uses her talents to better the Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter and Gamma Phi Beta. Julie’s mom was a member of a sorority, and Julie grew up seeing the sisterhood and lifelong friendships her mother cherished. When she came to George Mason, she felt that she found the environment to foster those same friendships she wanted for herself. Gamma Phi has meant so much to her, especially as an alumna, where she has made many lifelong friendship and wonderful memories with the women in the chapter. We are very fortunate to know Julie and have her leadership and friendship!
